The US Air Force will begin training its pilots on linked virtual F-35 simulators.

Lockheed Martin last week announced the delivery of four networked F-35 simulators that can be shared over virtual world giving access to multiple trainees in tactical training exercise at a single time, Orlando Sentinel reported Tuesday.

“The simulators will present an environment to adequately challenge our pilots as they prepare for combat,” Lt. Col. George Watkins, the 34th Fighter Squadron’s Commander, said in a press statement.

The Air Force has been looking to deploy Lockheed Martin’s stealth F-35 Lightning II aircraft and this simulator will help accomplish that goal.

“All the pieces of the technology puzzle are coming together to support the Air Force’s F-35 mission readiness,” said Mary Ann Horter, vice president of F-35 Sustainment Support at Lockheed was quoted as saying by the website.
