AAI Wins $97 Million Contract For US Army Shadow UAV Retrofits

AAI Corp has been awarded the US Army contract worth $97 million for the full-rate production of tactical data link retrofit for the Shadow tactical unmanned aircraft systems.  

“AAI Corp was awarded a $97,109,000 modification to contract W58RGZ-15-C-0047 for the Shadow tactical unmanned aircraft system, tactical data link retrofit for full-rate production VII,” the US Department of Defense statement said yesterday.

Work will be performed in Hunt Valley, Maryland, with an estimated completion date of Oct. 31, 2018, the statement added.

The Shadow family of unmanned aircraft systems developed by AAI, a subsidiary of Textron Systems, is in operational service with the US Army and US Marine Corps.
