Lockheed Martin has offered India advanced version of the F-16 fighter jets than those that will be delivered to Pakistan.
India is considering an offer from Lockheed Martin to organize manufacturing of F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft in the country, Economic Times news daily reported Monday, citing high-ranking sources.
The Indian government had summoned the US ambassador Richard Verma over the clearance of F-16 fighter jets by the US administration to Pakistan worth nearly $700 million on Saturday.
Indian Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar met the US ambassador at the ministry to convey India's disapproval of the deal to Washington.
