The Iranian Navy launched its 2,000-ton vessel named Gilan at a ceremony held at the Army Naval Forces maintenance facility in the port city of Anzali today.

The Bulk-type carrier was launched at the presence of Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan and Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, Iran’s news agency IRNA reported.

The dock of the Gilan vessel has been designed and manufactured by Marine Industries Organization affiliated to Iran's Defense Ministry.
