China has started assembly of it's first indigenous aircraft carrier and manufacture of several guided missile destroyers.

According to the footage captured from Airbus satellite last Thursday, the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) is assembling a Type-001A CV aircraft carrier along with the manufacture of type 052D missile destroyers, Sputnik reported Thursday.

The footage disclosed production of military warships at Dalian Shipyard in China. The footage also reveals that the assembly of the destroyers is almost over. A bow section and other exterior hull components is all that is left to be done.

Two of the component fabrication areas adjacent to the dry dock are largely clear of materials, indicating that work on the Type 001A hull is nearing an end. Few uninstalled components remain present, including the forward aircraft elevatorm IHS Janes quoted an unnamed analyst as saying.

The Type 001A will be the first aircraft carrier designed by the Chinese and the second ship of its type in the PLAN fleet.

Besides expected completion of the Type 001A CV, the navy is also working on three Type 052D Luyang guided-missile destroyers, known as the "Carrier Killer" or "China’s Aegis,".
