Russia’s Su-35 Super Flanker To Be Tested Year end

Russia’s advanced Su-35S fighter jet is expected to undergo final tests by the end of 2017, Deputy defense minister said Tuesday.

"At present, more than 50 [Su-35S] aircraft are being tested in units of the Russian Aerospace Forces. We are expecting that the state joint tests will be completed by the end of this year, and the aircraft will be adopted [for service]," Deputy Defense Minister Yury Borisov was quoted as saying by Sputnik.

The SU-35s is Russia's latest single-seat multi-role attack jet. It is well suited to air superiority missions due to its excellent manoeuverability and thrust vectoring engines to allow it to turn far tighter than a traditional jet aircraft. The Su-35s is fitted with a 30mm cannon for air-to-air dog fighting as well as the capability of carrying rockets, missiles and bombs.
