The US State Department has approved $1.035 billion sale of 2747 Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV) and accessories to the United Kingdom.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today.

This possible sale also includes baseline integration kits, basic issue item kits, B-kit armor, engine arctic kits, fording kits, run-flat kits, spare tire kits, silent watch kits, power expansion kits cargo cover kits, maintainer and operator training, US government technical assistance and logistics support services, and other related elements of logistics and program support, DSCA said in a statement Monday.

This proposed sale supports the foreign policy and national security policies of the United States by helping to improve the security of a NATO ally which has been, and continues to be, an important partner on critical foreign policy and defense issues.

The proposed sale will help improve the UK’s Light Tactical Vehicle Fleet and enhance its ability to meet current and future threats.

The principal contractor of this sale will be Oshkosh Defense.
