North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is supplying hi-tech cyber-security equipment to the Ukraine for defending its government networks from cyberattacks.

The 13th Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg said, "We are in the process of providing Ukraine with new equipment to some key government institutions."

The move would enable Ukraine to investigate who is behind certain cyber-attacks, because the response to them is extremely important, The Secretary General of 29-member alliance said at a news conference in Kiev alongside Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Monday.

Ukraine has recently been hit by a series of cyberattacks, including a June 27 attack that crippled computers in the country. Kiev accused Russia for the intrusions. However, Russia Kremlin denied the charges.

Stoltenberg added that the alliance is studying the Ukraine attacks closely. "NATO is learning a lot from Ukraine," he said.
