Korea Aerospace Industries has chosen Harris Corporation to furnish carriage and release systems for the next-generation Korea Fighter-Experimental (KF-X) program.

The KF-X jet is a program aimed at developing an advanced multirole fighter for the air force of the Republic of Korea,  Harris Corp said in a statement Tuesday.

Harris will supply its BRU-47 and BRU-57 release systems; the BRU-47 single store carrier, says Harris, reduces the time needed for loading stores using its patented sway-brace technology, which is designed to minimize rack sway due to aircraft maneuvers and munition release.

The BRU-57 is a smart-weapon-enabled, twin store carrier that doubles the payload capacity of aircraft without the need to modify any hardware, which allows for a wide array of payload configurations.
