Indonesia Deploys Boeing Aircraft, Helicopters & Drones to Secure Presidential Inauguration

Indonesia has pressed its fleet of Boeing aircraft, helicopters and drones to ensure air security during presidential inauguration.

“The Indonesian Defences Forces (TNI) and Indonesian Police (Polri) deploy several helicopters, drones and Boeing aircraft for air security during the presidential inauguration,” Chief of TNI Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto was quoted as saying by local media on Sunday.

Parliament Building and Presidential Palace areas in Jakarta have been secured particularly, ahead of the inauguration of Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as President and Ma'ruf Amin as Vice President for the 2019-2024 period.

Boeing planes and drones have been employed to conduct aerial monitoring to keep possible threats at bay. All monitoring results are reported to the Main Command Post located on Merdeka Barat avenue so TNI and Polri personnel can carry out real time monitoring of prone areas.

Head of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Bambang Soesatyo earlier told the media that 168 foreign ambassadors confirmed their presence in the inauguration ceremony.

Among the foreign leaders are Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad; Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, and China's Vice President Wang Qishan.
