China’s 13th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition kicked off today with a ‘cloud signing ceremony’ where potential national and international exhibitors signed up for the event by video-conferencing.

While most important aerospace events including the Farnborough International air show pulling the plug due to the COVID-19 pandemic this year, Airshow China has decided to go ahead and will be held from Nov. 10 to 15 in Zhuhai, south China's Guangdong Province.

More than 400 well-known aircraft and aerospace companies from home and abroad have confirmed they will participate in the event, Xinhua news agency reported today.

The six-day event has attracted Airbus, Bell Helicopter, Rolls-Royce, Parker Aerospace and other exhibitors from countries and regions including Australia, Germany, Russia, France, the United States and Saudi Arabia.

Li Yihui, deputy general manager of Zhuhai Airshow Co., Ltd., the organizer, told Xinhua that the indoor exhibition area of this year's Airshow China will exceed 90,000 square meters, with many exhibitors expanding their booth areas.

China is expected to unveil several important domestic developments at the show including a new stealth fighter  jet modeled along the US-made B-1, the JF-17 Block III made in collaboration with Pakistan, new drones, fighter  jets with locally-made engines and advances in sensors and radars.
