Turkish firm ASELSAN has bagged an export order worth $93.3 million for the supply of several battlefield systems including command and control, anti-tank missile launcher, remote-controlled weapon station, radio links, inertial navigation and gunshot detection devices.

The contract was signed between ASELSAN and one of its international clients, the company announced in a Tweet without mentioning the customer. The deliveries will be made between 2020-2021.

Qatar emerges as one of the likely buyers due to growing proximity between the two countries and previous arms transfer of similar systems, Turkish media reported. However, sources speculated that the buyer could be Azerbaijan or even Ukraine.

Given the range and types of products in the list, besides the tight delivery schedule, the systems could be wanted by an army facing immediate threats.

If this is true then Azerbaijan or even the Libyan faction having the support of Turkey could be the likely buyers, several social media users speculated in response to the company’s tweet.
