Russian Helicopters Holding said it has overhauled six Mi-17-1V military transport helicopters operated by the Peruvian Air Force, in SEMAN base located in Lima.

The repair work was carried out over the last two years by Novosibirsk Aircraft Repair Plant (NARZ), a subsidiary of Russian Helicopters. As a result of the maintenance carried out, the Peruvian helicopters have established an overhaul life of eight years and an overhaul life of 2000 hours, Rostec said in a release.

Peru utilizes these aircraft for various tasks including transportation, search and rescue of people in areas affected by natural disasters, the fight against drug trafficking, as well as for humanitarian purposes, such as the delivery of medicines, food and clothing.

Design and equipment of the Mi-8/17 family of helicopters allow them to be operated autonomously on unequipped sites in almost all climatic conditions, including in high mountain regions and areas with hot climates.
