Germany Withholds Airbus A400M Aircraft Supply to Embattled Kazakhstan: Reports
Airbus A400M military transport aircraft

Germany has blocked the sale of Airbus A400M transport aircraft to Kazakhstan after protests erupted in the country over rising fuel prices.

"This prohibition is necessary, given the situation in Kazakhstan," a government official was quoted as saying by Radio-télévision belge de la Communauté française (RTBF), the Belgian Radio-television of the French Community.

As per reports, only 25 permits were issued for the supply of military products in the interests of Nur-Sultan for a total of €2.2 million in 2021.

The German embargo will apparently make it impossible to implement the recent contract for the purchase of two A400Ms by Kazakhstan. The country has previously purchased ten Airbus-manufactured C295M light transport vehicles which were delivered from 2012 to 2017.
