Kurganmashzavod of Rostec-owned High-Precision Complexes holding has delivered the final batch of BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles under a two-year contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The new equipment will replenish the technical fleet of all military districts of Russia.

Kurganmashzavod specialists are working to increase the BMP-3’s survivability on the battlefield, including through the installation of dynamic protection.

“Kurganmashzavod has been contracted for several years ahead. In addition to serial deliveries and service maintenance of well-known types of equipment, we are working to improve the performance characteristics of our products, we are developing new combat vehicles and dual-purpose vehicles, taking into account modern requirements. In 2022, Kurganmashzavod plans to start mastering the production of the Sprut-SDM1 light amphibious tank for the Airborne Forces. In the first quarter of this year, state tests of this unique combat vehicle will be completed,” said Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the Rostec weapons cluster.

Kurganmashzavod continues to implement the State Armaments Program until 2027, in accordance with which the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation will be supplied with third-generation infantry fighting vehicles BMP-3, armored recovery vehicles BREM-L, landing equipment - BMD-4M and BTR-MDM.
