Russian Forces today destoryed the workshops of the Vizar machine-building plant on the outskirts of Kyiv which is used for the production and repair of anti-aircraft and anti-ship missile systems.
The strike comes amidst reports that a Ukrainian 'Neptune' anti-ship missile struck at the Cruiser, 'Moskva,' the flagship of the Russian Black Sea fleet on April 13. The Russian MoD however, has said that the ship sank from an internal explosion of ammunition stored in it.
“Tonight, Kalibr sea-based high-precision long-range missiles hit a military facility on the outskirts of Kyiv. As a result of the attack on the Vizar Zhulyansky machine-building plant, workshops for the production and repair of long-range and medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as anti-ship missiles, were destroyed," said Igor Konashenkov, official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry said at a briefing, TVzvezda, the Russian MoD's official TV channel reported.
In addition, a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter was shot down by an S-400 anti-aircraft missile system in the past 24 hours, which attacked residents of Klimovo in the Bryansk region. The helicopter was hit while returning to base.
The representative of the defense department also warned that the number of strikes on objects in Kyiv could be increased if "nationalists commit provocations or sabotage on Russian territory."
