A Ukrainian military transport plane, reportedly carrying a cargo of weapons from NATO countries, was shot down over Odessa, the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) claimed Saturday.
"In the area of Odessa, Russian air defense systems shot down a Ukrainian military transport aircraft, which was delivering a large batch of weapons from NATO countries to Ukraine," Russian MoD spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said during a media briefing,
According to Russian media, the spokesperson did not provide any deals of the aircraft, cargo or its origin and destination.
There is no information in the Ukrainian media regarding the loss of a military transport aircraft.
Unconfirmed reports emanating from Ukraine said a military cargo plane landed at an airfield near Kyiv which subsequently came under attack from Russian helicopters.
