Massive missile strike on Kyiv on Sunday was aimed at Ukrainian Artem Rocket and Space Enterprise which produces ammunition for Ukrainian Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), the Russian MoD announced.

"On June 26, the Russian Aerospace Forces attacked the shops of the Artem Rocket-Building Corporation in the Shevchenko district of Kyiv with four high-precision air-launched missiles," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said during a regular press briefing today.

The plant produced ammunition for Ukrainian multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), the MoD spokesman stated.

"All four missiles hit their target. Civilian infrastructure of the city of Kyiv was not damaged as a result of the use of high-precision weapons," Konashenkov claimed.

"Ukrainian crews of the S-300 and Buk-M1 air defense systems used more than 10 anti-aircraft missiles. Due to the lack of interface between the launchers of air defense systems and radio equipment located in urban areas, two S-300 anti-aircraft missiles were shot down in the air by Ukrainian Buk system. Presumably, one of the downed anti-aircraft missiles fell on a residential building," Konashenkov further stated.

On April 29, Russia used high-precision long-range air-based weapons to destroy Artem rocket and space enterprise. Owned by Ukroboronprom state concern, Artem produces weapons and ammunition, as well as air and spacecraft.
