Seven nations will set up national pavilions besides delegations and companies from 129 countries are invited to participate in the Army-2022 military-technical forum, which will be held from August 15 to 21 in the Moscow Region.
This was announced by the head of the Main Directorate for Innovative Development of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Alexander Osadchuk at a briefing for the military-diplomatic corps of foreign states, Russian MoD reported.
The arms show comes as Russia is engaged in a bloody war with Ukraine and is facing crippling sanctions affecting its ability to sell it military hardware to foreign countries.
Army-22 includes a demonstration program at the Alabino training ground to show the capabilities of weapons, military and special equipment. The flight program at the Kubinka airfield will include demonstration performances of aviation aerobatic teams.
According to Osadchuk, more than 320 scientific and business events will be held at the Army-2022 forum.
"The scientific and business program provides for holding more than 320 events on the most pressing issues of the development of the Armed Forces, the military-industrial complex of Russia and international military-technical cooperation, taking into account modern conditions," Osadchuk said.
In addition, the forum will host the Strategic Leadership and Artificial Intelligence Technologies congress, a congress on the diversification of the Russian defense industry, and a congress aimed at "countering the falsification of history."
Within the framework of Army-2022, it is planned to sign state contracts between the Russian Ministry of Defense and industrial enterprises. In addition, Rosoboronexport (part of Rostec) will conclude contracts for the supply of weapons and military equipment to foreign partners.

Traditionally, the Army series of trade shows have become the stage to launch new military hardware. At the 2022 event, Russian arms industry is expected to reveal several new equipment and improvements to existing ones based on battle experience in Ukraine and earlier engagements in Syria and Armenia-Azerbaijan.

Russian anti-drone technology may be something to watch out for considering the Kremlin's claims of shooting down Turkish Bayraktar drones in Ukraine with impunity.

In addition, Russia is said to have made huge advances in electronic warfare and the suppression of enemy air defenses
