Brazilian fashion model-turned-sniper Talita do Valle has died fighting for war-torn Ukraine.
Talita spent only three weeks in Ukraine, where she provided support to the infantry units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a sniper. During the battle at the end of June, the 39-year-old was cut off from her unit, after which she took refuge in a bunker already engulfed in fire, where she died of suffocation. Compatriot Douglas Burigot tried to save her from a burning building, but he also died, Brazilian news outlet Globo reported.
Talita began her career as a model and actress in São Paulo. She then studied law and worked as an animal advocate. Later, she decided to join the Kurdish Peshmerga during their battles with ISIS, by whom she was trained in sniping, the report said.
