Russia has claimed it destroyed two Ukrainian Navy landing craft that were trying to put troops into the Kherson region.
"In the waters of the Dnieper estuary, an attempt was uncovered to advance and disembark from high-speed landing boats of the Ukrainian sabotage group into the territory of the Kherson region. As a result of fire damage, two landing boats of the Ukrainian Navy with saboteurs on board were destroyed," Igor Konashenkov, official representative of the ministry, said at a briefing on Monday.
The Ukrainians are trying to recapture Kherson, the first major city to fall into the hands of Russia on March 3. They have managed to damage three bridges leading into Kherson city within the past week in order to prevent Russian forces from moving equipment into the city.

Konashenkov said Russian Aerospace Forces delivered a strike with high-precision weapons at the temporary deployment point of the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city of Konstantinovka in the DPR. More than 100 Ukrainian military and foreign mercenaries were reportedly killed in the strike.
