Ukraine's Bayraktar drones destroyed $26.5 million worth of Russian military equipment, including eight tanks, from August 31 to September 2, according to Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's Armed Forces who posted on Telegram.
"Effective Turkish Bayraktars in the skillful hands of our soldiers are a powerful weapon! One of them is help from a friendly Lithuania," Zaluzhnyi said.
"Over the past three days, from August 31 to September 2, a pair of Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles destroyed enemy equipment worth a total of about $26.5 million. In a separate development, Igor Kirillov, head of the radiation, chemical and biological protection division of the Russian Armed Forces claimed that biological weapons delivery systems based on unmanned aerial vehicles are being developed and patented.
Igor Kirillov continued “The United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued document # 8,967,029 for an unmanned aerial vehicle for the dissemination of infected insects in the air. The patent description states that with the help of this device, enemy troops can be destroyed or disabled without risk to US military personnel,” Kirillov claimed.
We have at our disposal a confirmation of the request of Ukraine to the Turkish manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles Bayraktar dated December 15, 2021 on the possibility of equipping this UAV with systems and mechanisms for spraying aerosols with a capacity of more than 20 liters. With a UAV flight range of up to 300 kilometers and equipment of containers with biological formulations, a real threat is created of large-scale use of biological weapons on the territory of the Russian Federation,” Kirillov said.
