Ukraine had destroyed over 400 Russian targets with the HIMARS rocket systems, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark A. Milley has said.
The relevant statement was made by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark A. Milley on Thursday, following the fifth meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at the Ramstein Air Base, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We are seeing real and measurable gains from Ukraine in the use of these systems. For example, the Ukrainians have struck over 400 targets with the HIMARS and they’ve had devastating effect,” Milley stressed.
According to Milley, in recent time, Ukrainians have been effectively combining the U.S.-supplied weapons systems with military maneuvers, excellent command and control to achieve the desired effect.
Russian Forces intercept 16 HIMARS rockets
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the interception of 16 Ukrainian HIMARS (US-made multiple launch rocket system) shells in the Kherson and Kharkiv regions.
"19 rocket launchers of multiple launch rocket systems were intercepted in the air, including 16 HIMARS in the areas of Novaya Kakhovka, Molodyozhnoye in the Kherson region, Novoosinovo, Grushevka in the Kharkov region and three rockets of the Alder multiple launch rocket system in the Antonovka area of ​​the Kherson region," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a briefing on Thursday.
