The Chinese "Kunlong" AG600M Amphibious Aerial firefighting aircraft obtained Six Purchase agreements following the completion of a 12-ton water drop test.
The aircraft filled with 12 tons of water took off from the Zhanghe Airport runway. The aircraft dumped the water at a test location within 15 seconds. The aircraft refilled its tanks by gliding at high speed on the water surface and performed the test again along with completing a series of predetermined flight tests.
The creator of the aircraft, Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) General Aircraft South China signed 4 aircraft purchase agreements and research and development financing agreements with Everbright Financial Leasing. AVIC also signed 2 aircraft purchase agreements with Henan Aviation Investment.
“China's self-developed amphibious #aircraft Kunlong AG600M, designed for aerial firefighting, completed a key test of drawing and dropping 12 tonnes of water on Tuesday, and received the first batch of purchase orders for 6 planes.” The Chinese Embassy in Switzerland tweeted.
The AG600M aircraft has a maximum take-off weight of 60 tons, a maximum water load of 12 tons, a minimum level flight speed of 220 km/h, and a range of 4,500 kilometers. It is equipped with four WJ6 engines and nose-wheel tricycle retractable landing gear. The aircraft has a service ceiling of 6000m.
