Some 10,000 Russian servicemen received cash rewards for destruction of Ukrainian military equipment, the highest being 300,000 Rubles ($3,500) for the U.S.-made HIMARS and Tochka-U rocket launchers besides aircraft and helicopters.
“For 15 hits of launchers of the Tochka-U tactical complex and HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, Russian servicemen received payments of 300,000 rubles each,” the Russian MoD said today.
In addition, payments of 300,000 rubles were made this year for each of the 45 Ukrainian helicopters and 71 aircraft destroyed by pilots and air defense operators.
Russian MoD said more than 10,000 servicemen received special payments for the personal destruction or seizure of enemy military equipment so far.
Last year, 7,064 Russian military personnel received payments for having blown up 11,586 pieces of Ukrainian military equipment and weapons.
Until May 31 this year, Russia paid 3,193 servicemen either 50,000 rubles ($583) or 100,000 rubles ($1,166) each for destroying 4,415 equipment used by Ukraine’s armed forces.
“100,000 rubles each in 2023 were received by servicemen of the units of the ground and airborne troops, as well as the marines, including artillery units, for the destruction of each of the many hundreds of armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine…. Payments of 50,000 rubles to Russian servicemen were made for the destruction of 1,501 enemy armored fighting vehicles, 203 self-propelled artillery installations, and 85 multiple rocket launchers in 2023," the ministry said.
Moscow added, “For 15 hit launchers of the Tochka-U tactical complex and HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, distinguished Russian servicemen received payments of 300,000 rubles.”
For the successful interception by air defense systems of 941 missiles fired by the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the Tochka-U tactical complexes, the Alder, Smerch, Uragan and HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, as well as the destruction of each of 1211 Ukrainian medium-range unmanned aerial vehicles, Russian servicemen received 50,000 rubles each.
The servicemen of the Russian Navy, whose competent and prompt actions destroyed six Ukrainian fast unmanned boats that attacked Russian ships and civilian infrastructure in Crimea, received 200,000 rubles ($2,332) each.
"Currently, on the basis of the reports of the commanders of units in the Zaporozhye and South Donetsk directions, payments are being made to the servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces who destroyed Leopard tanks, as well as armored combat vehicles manufactured by the United States and other NATO countries during the hostilities," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The payments are made on the basis of orders from the commanders of military units and are transferred to the military personnel on their personal financial accounts.
