Pakistan’s National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP), which was officially opened on August 4 signed a cooperation agreement with Turkish Drone maker, Baykar for R & D.
With the R&D studies that Baykar will carry out within NASTP, the foundation of the comprehensive cooperation to be carried out in the future has been laid.
In this way, Baykar will further deepen its cooperation with Pakistan in strategic areas, the company said in a Tweet.
Baykar Chairman of the Board, Selcuk Bayrakta attended the opening ceremony held by Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The cooperation was signed by Baykar Chairman of the Board Selçuk Bayraktar and NASTP Commander Lieutenant General Ghulam Abbas Ghumman.
Scale models of Baykar drones and missiles besides Turkey’s upcoming fighter aircraft KAAN were displayed at the inauguration ceremony indicating a comprehensive cooperation is on the cards.
Turkey has officially said that talks with Islamabad will commence soon on the level of cooperation regarding the KAAN project.
In recent years Pakistan has emerged as an important customer for Turkish defense products- these include ships, helicopters, drones and targeting pods.
