The Kuwaiti Air Force has expanded its arsenal with the recent delivery of four more Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.
With the delivery of these four Eurofighter Typhoons, Kuwait has now received 13 out of the 28 aircraft on order.
The announcement was made by Kuwait's official news agency, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
The Eurofighter Typhoons, part of a collaborative procurement program, arrived in Kuwait in December 2021 as a result of the joint partnership with Italy for training and support. The Italian Air Force is contributing air-to-air refueling capabilities using its KC-767A tanker aircraft. Additionally, the Italian service is actively involved in training Kuwaiti pilots, engineers, and technicians to ensure the effective operation and maintenance of Kuwait's growing Eurofighter fleet.
The Eurofighter Typhoon is equipped with advanced electronic warfare systems and features a Mauser BK27mm gun. These aircraft are also capable of carrying various types of missiles. With the ability to achieve speeds exceeding Mach 1, the aircraft boasts an active electronically scanned array radar system.
The delivered aircraft have already accumulated an impressive total of over 400 flight hours, demonstrating their readiness for operational duties.
These newly acquired Eurofighters will complement Kuwait's existing fleet, which includes F/A-18 Hornets and Mirage F1 jets.
