NATO's Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) has announced an expansion in Hungary, doubling its presence in the country by integrating accelerator sites and test centers into its research and development network.
Beyond advancing technologies and manufacturing defense equipment, NATO DIANA aims to foster defense-based innovation. Hungary's inclusion in DIANA's defense industry innovation network enhances both domestic and international research collaborations and technology adoption within NATO. The civilian-military dual-use solutions are expected to spur domestic industrial growth.
The inaugural Hungary-based DIANA accelerator site, VIKI-NOKIA, results from collaboration between the Defence Innovation Research Institute Non-profit Ltd (VIKI) and Nokia Solutions and Networks Ltd. Additionally, six Hungarian DIANA test centers have received accreditation.
DIANA's ecosystem offers services including financing, training, expert consulting, and specialized testing facilities.
