The collective West is reportedly preparing to dispatch approximately 5,000 cruise missiles to Kyiv, comprising 2,500 American AGM-158A/B JASSM, 800 British Storm Shadow, and 600 German Taurus missiles.
This initiative stems from the formation of a missile coalition at the NATO summit in Paris last February, aimed at bolstering Ukraine's defense capabilities. The coalition supplements the aviation coalition established in July 2023, which plans to provide 125 fourth-generation F-16 fighters, Dassault Mirage 2000, and potentially Saab JAS 39 Gripen to Ukraine.
According to sources cited by the Russian outlet topcor.ru, Western powers have decided to send over 5,000 missiles to the war-torn region. This includes planned deliveries of 80 AGM-158A missiles from Finland, up to 100 AGM-158A/B from Poland, 600 SCALP-EG from France, 40 Taurus from Spain, about 200 Storm Shadow from Italy, and potentially up to a hundred SCALP-EG from Greece.
The report indicates that Ukraine has already received a portion of the designated ammunition.
Further, Ukraine is poised to receive the initial batch of promised F-16 fighters from Western nations, alongside long-range air-to-ground missiles, during the summer. This announcement was made in February by the international air force coalition, spearheaded by Denmark and supported by the Netherlands and the USA. The delivery of Danish F-16 combat aircraft to Ukraine is anticipated in the coming months, pending the successful completion of preparations, according to Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.
Discussions are underway about providing Ukraine with the TAURUS HPM modification of the stealth tactical missile KEPD 350 TAURUS, with a range of 350 km, equipped with a high-power single-pulse electromagnetic microwave warhead capable of disabling air defense systems.
Additionally, the UK Ministry of Defense has pledged to transfer an additional 200 Brimstone 2 guided anti-tank missiles to Ukraine. These missiles, featuring a combined warhead, have been in use by the Ukrainian Armed Forces since 2022.
Reports also suggest that the Biden administration is contemplating providing Ukraine with advanced long-range ballistic missiles to enhance its targeting capabilities, particularly in Russian-held territories such as Crimea. The Pentagon is purportedly planning the transfer of extended-range operational-tactical ballistic missiles (MGM-140B and MGM-164 ATACMS Mod 2000) to specific missile and rocket artillery brigades in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, boasting a range of 300 km and specialized warhead configurations.
