An Indian Air Force (IAF) Su-30MKI fighter jet crashed in Nashik district, Maharashtra state, on Tuesday.
The incident occurred during a test sortie from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Nashik. Both pilots, who were from HAL, ejected safely before the crash.
The pilots had encountered a technical snag during the flight. However, the exact cause of the crash remains unknown and will be determined after a detailed investigation.
“A Su-30 MKI crashed while on test sortie from HAL Nashik at Sirsa gaon. Both the pilots of HAL have ejected to safety. A technical snag was reported by the pilots,” HAL confirmed on social media.
