MAKS Airshow 2024 to go Virtual

The Moscow International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS) will be held virtually this year from July 23 to 28, showcasing Russian aerospace developments.

The decision to move the event online follows the cancellation of the physical event due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Rostec State Corporation and its subsidiary Aviasalon, the organizers of MAKS, have introduced this online initiative to continue promoting domestic aviation and to prepare for MAKS-2025. The virtual event will be hosted on the official website, aviasalon.com, where visitors can explore the latest achievements in the aviation industry and view contributions from enterprises involved in creating airplanes, helicopters, and related components.

Participants in the virtual MAKS can post information about their companies, present their scientific activities and developments, and share multimedia materials demonstrating the capabilities of their aviation equipment. The online platform will feature various sections dedicated to different aspects of the aerospace industry.

"Despite the cancellation of the MAKS air show this year, the Russian aviation and space industry still needs to hold congress and exhibition events. We need platforms to promote modern equipment and advanced technologies that help form cooperation ties not only within the country, but also with our foreign partners. Preparations for MAKS-2025 are proceeding as usual, and the new multimedia project is part of this important work," said Viktor Kladov, Director for International Cooperation and Regional Policy at Rostec State Corporation.

The new online project aims to promote the Russian aviation industry, which is a key sector for the country's economic development. Updates from the MAKS air show website will also be shared on multimedia platforms such as the Telegram channel "Aviasalon MAKS" and the VKontakte account.

"We are constantly in touch with the event organizers, traditional and potential participants and partners," said Alexander Levin, CEO of JSC Aviasalon. "Considering current trends in the convention and exhibition industry, we are working on alternative work formats. To maintain relations with the participants of the aviation and space salon, we are organizing an online exhibition on our official website."

JSC Aviasalon has experience in engaging with an online audience, as demonstrated by the launch of the "Aviasalon MAKS" Telegram channel in 2021, which has nearly 10,000 subscribers. This channel allows readers to follow significant projects, learn about aviation and astronautics, and stay informed about the preparations for international air shows.
