Ruselectronics Develops Wireless Portable Artillery Control System
Portable wireless artillery gun control system

Ruselectronics of Russia is demonstrating a portable artillery and mortar battery control system at the Army 2024 event in Moscow which besides the compact size replaces wired data transmission a special Wi-Fi channel.

The new development allows automated control of any artillery and mortar systems, both domestic and foreign, including heterogeneous groups and using the entire range of ammunition. The equipment provides complete preparation of data for firing, calculates firing parameters and transmits them to the gun crew.

When using the product, the time to prepare fire on an unplanned target does not exceed 35 seconds. The developer of the complex is the Penza "Radiozavod" of the holding "Roselectronics."

The updated product includes a software and hardware complex (SHC) for the battery commander and senior officer, as well as a portable artillery kit for the gun commander. The upgraded SHC for the commander includes a shockproof tablet and a portable radio station, all equipment fits into a compact protective case with a total weight of less than 4 kg.

The equipment can also be placed in a backpack or unloading vest. The SHC for the commander, using data from artillery reconnaissance equipment, such as radar stations and reconnaissance drones, calculates firing settings and transmits them to the gun commander. Up to eight guns can be under the control of one SHC for the commander.

The gun commander's portable artillery kit also consists of a tablet computer and a radio station, and fire can be controlled from both devices. The equipment supports data and voice messaging exchange at a distance of up to 6 km.
