The High-Precision Systems holding of the Rostec State Corporation has delivered a new batch of BMD-4M airborne combat vehicles and BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles equipped with additional protection kits.
The equipment was manufactured at Kurganmashzavod. Kurganmashzavod has increased its production of infantry fighting vehicles and airborne combat vehicles by 20% in the first nine months of 2024 compared to the same period last year.
The additional protection features armor reinforcement kits and lattice screens designed to improve the vehicles' resilience in combat. Furthermore, the vehicles are outfitted with the "Cape" system, which reduces heat and radar signatures using non-flammable materials, thus increasing their survivability on the battlefield.
Bekkhan Ozdoyev, a member of the bureau of the Union of Machine Builders of Russia and industrial director of the arms cluster at Rostec, stated that over 80% of the weapons used in the special military operation zone are produced by domestic enterprises, including artillery, air defense systems, UAVs, and armored vehicles.
