French Army Receives First Stereoscopic Night Vision Binoculars

The French Army has received its first shipment of 300 Bi-NYX stereoscopic night vision binoculars, developed by Thales.

This initial delivery is part of a total order for 2,000 units, with completion scheduled by the end of the year.

Equipped with two eyepieces and objectives, the Bi-NYX binoculars provide significant operational advantages, enhancing night binoculars and driving for frontline troops and vehicle operators.

They offer true stereoscopic vision, which improves depth perception, and are lighter than previous O-NYX binocular models that featured a single lens.

The binoculars incorporate advanced light intensifier tubes produced by Photonis in Brive-la-Gaillarde, Corrèze.

These tubes allow for superior image quality in low-light conditions, enabling troops to operate effectively in darkness. The Bi-NYX are suitable for various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity.

The Bi-NYX binoculars are equipped with user-friendly controls and can be integrated with other military technologies, such as tactical communication systems and drones.
