The United Engine Corporation (UEC) and the Aeronext Association have signed an agreement to jointly develop technologies for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
The collaboration, announced at the International Engine Forum in Moscow, aims to strengthen Russia’s UAS industry by advancing domestic power plant technologies and enhancing the regulatory framework for unmanned aviation.
This partnership will focus on key areas such as technical and operational requirements, legislative proposals, and creating a technological foundation for the future of Russian UAS.
"The direction of developing new domestic power plants for unmanned aircraft systems is of great interest to us. Close cooperation with the association will allow us to formulate technical and operational requirements for promising aircraft engines, including hybrid power plants. We will also determine the projected demand and prepare the basis for using new technical solutions in the creation of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles," said Vadim Badekha, CEO of UEC and member of the bureau of the central council of Soyuzmash Rossii LLC.
Both parties are committed to shaping scientific and technical policy for UAS development, with the goal of improving industry regulations and expanding the use of unmanned aircraft in national projects. The collaboration will also explore opportunities to advance domestic UAS technologies, focusing on engine development, energy supply systems, and software components.
The Aeronext Association, which includes over 70 companies, will work closely with UEC to promote Russian UAS advancements and establish a unified platform for collaboration.
