Hamas Blows up Israeli Tank in Gaza; 96 Palestinians Killed, 222 Injured

An Israeli Merkava tank was blown up Gaza today even as IDF operations led to the deaths of 96 Palestinians and injuries to 222 others.

Hamas-affiliated Quassam brigade released a video on X which shows a Merkava tank manoeuvring through the narrow streets of bombed out Gaza and and immediately going up in a ball of flame. The video also shows a Quassam operative sitting over a reel of wire possibly attached to the explosive device that blew up beneath the tank.

However, despite the “weapon” clearly looking like an improvised explosive device, Iran’s IRNA news agency tweeted, “In a special operation, the Qassam Brigades used its Showaz anti-armor weapon to destroy another Israeli Merkava tank in the north of the Gaza Strip on Monday.”

Gaza’s health ministry released its latest bulletin today in which it detailed the deaths, most of them children and women.

According to Lebanese media, Al Mayadeen, the attack on the Palestinians came as the Israeli army dropped leaflets declaring a "new phase of war" and ordering residents to evacuate northern Gaza and move southward.
