U.S. Special Forces Order French NERVA-LG Robots

KNDS France Robotics has been awarded a contract to supply 10 NERVA LG robots to the U.S. Special Forces.

The NERVA LG robot performs tasks related to remote observation, detection, and manipulation. It weighs 5 kg, operates at speeds up to 13 km/h, and has a communication range of 1000 meters using Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). Its modular design and semi-autonomous navigation system enable reconfiguration in the field and integration with combat systems. It is used in missions involving improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats.

The robot's features include a 360° camera with HD color capability, a microphone, white and infrared (IR) lights, and a power range of up to two hours with a charging time of less than one hour. It is built to MIL-STD-810 standards for robustness and offers waterproofing up to IP65, with an option to upgrade to IP67.
