Air India, owned by Tata Group, has placed an order for 90 A320 Family single-aisle aircraft and 10 A350 wide-body jets.
This order is an addition to the 40 A350s and 210 A320 aircraft the airline secured in 2023, raising its total order for Airbus aircraft to 344. The airline has already received six A350-900s.
In a move to support its growing fleet, Air India has also selected Airbus’ Flight Hour Services-Component (FHS-C) for its A350 aircraft, which will optimize maintenance and enhance reliability. The services package further solidifies Airbus as the world’s largest A350 maintenance provider.
The airline’s fleet expansion is part of its broader “Vihaan.AI” transformation plan, aimed at improving Air India’s global presence.
The A350, known for its modern design and fuel efficiency, will help Air India meet long-haul route demands. The A320 aircraft, including the A321neo, offers enhanced fuel savings, lower CO₂ emissions, and improved passenger comfort.
