Elbit Systems has secured two contracts worth approximately $175 million for the supply of Electronic Warfare (EW) and Directed Infrared Countermeasure (DIRCM) Self-Protection Suites to a NATO European country.
These contracts will span five years, enhancing the defense capabilities of the country’s fleet of aircraft.
As part of the agreements, Elbit Systems will install its Self-Protection Suites on Embraer C-390 Millenium aircraft and Airbus H225M helicopters. The contracts also include provisions for another European country, which will receive the EW suite for its own fleet of C-390 aircraft.
The Self-Protection Suites, designed to offer comprehensive defense, include several systems such as the Digital Radar Warning Receiver, Infrared Missile Warning System (MWS), Laser Warning System (LWS), Countermeasure Dispenser System (CMDS), and the MUSIC family of DIRCM systems. Additionally, as part of the C-390 contract, Elbit Systems will deliver its SPEAR Advanced ECM (Electronic Countermeasure) Pod, which is easily transferable between aircraft.
This latest contract adds to a series of recent agreements Elbit Systems has secured over the past year, which also includes the supply of similar Self-Protection Suites for various fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, such as Chinook and H145M helicopters.
