The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) fired an MBDA Exocet MM40 Block 3 Anti-Ship Missile in land-attack mode.

Launched from the KRI R.E. Martadinata (331), the missile successfully struck a target on Pulau Gundul, 66.6 kilometers away, on December 10, 2024.

This live-fire exercise was part of the 2024 Joint Naval Operation Exercise II (Latopslagab II), focused on testing the full range of TNI AL’s missile capabilities.

The exercise, led by Navy Chief Admiral TNI Dr. Muhammad Ali, involved 2,000 soldiers and various defense equipment. It aimed to enhance the Indonesian Navy's readiness and showcase the nation's commitment to sovereignty.

Alongside the Exocet missile launch, 122mm unguided rockets were fired from an RM-70 MLRS on the KRI Teluk Amboina (503).

The firing exercise also saw participation from various naval assets, including 12 warships, four AS565 MBe Panther helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) like the ScanEagle and Camcopter S-100. Notably, a Type-209/Jang Bogo-class submarine, the KRI Alugoro (405), also took part, although its specific role in the exercise was not disclosed.
