Israeli forces raided an Iranian-financed missile factory in Syria, which produced missiles with ranges up to 300 kilometers, according to newly declassified IDF information.

Operation Many Ways carried out by more than 100 soldiers from the Shaldag unit with naval and aerial support, targeted a site in Masyaf on September 8.

The underground factory, codenamed "Deep Layer," was reportedly a significant project for Iran, designed to produce missiles for Hezbollah and other proxies in the region. Located 230–400 feet beneath a mountain, the facility was inaccessible to airstrikes, prompting the IDF to deploy troops via six CH-53 Yasur helicopters. Fighter jets, drones, and naval vessels provided intelligence and fire support during the raid.

Israeli forces destroyed critical missile manufacturing equipment, including machinery for precision weapons, and retrieved intelligence documents before demolishing the site with 300 kilograms of explosives. The IDF stated that all personnel returned safely, though the raid resulted in multiple casualties, with reports of at least 30 guards and Syrian soldiers killed.

The factory produced various missile types, including M220s, M302s, and M600 models, with ranges up to 300 kilometers. According to Israeli sources, the facility had bolstered Iran's missile supply chain to regional allies.

The IDF has since released videos detailing the operation, including footage of strikes on the facility and body-camera recordings from the troops involved. The attack highlights ongoing tensions between Israel, Iran, and their proxies in the region.
