Poland has signed a contract for the procurement of AGM-88G AARGM-ER anti-radiation missiles to enhance the operational capabilities of its Air Force.

The agreement, valued at approximately $745 million, includes the delivery of over 200 missiles between 2029 and 2035.  The U.S. approved the sale of 360 AARGM-ER missiles to Poland worth $1.3 billion in April 2024.

Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced the deal on January 28 in Warsaw, highlighting the importance of equipping the Polish military with weaponry to counter radar systems and enemy air defenses.

“We are acquiring, with the consent of the United States government, anti-radiation missiles that can detect, target, and neutralize enemy air defense systems,” Kosiniak-Kamysz stated. He emphasized that integrating these weapons with Poland’s fleet of F-35 and F-16 fighter jets would maximize their operational potential.

The AGM-88G AARGM-ER, an improved variant of the High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM), features extended range capabilities exceeding 200 kilometers. The missiles are designed to suppress enemy radar systems, air defense networks, and missile installations, allowing for improved air superiority and operational security in conflict scenarios.
