Diehl Defence is presenting its Sky Sphere drone defense system at the Enforce Tac trade fair in Nuremberg from February 24 to 26, highlighting the new eMissile CICADA for the first time in Europe.
CICADA is an electrically driven missile designed to counter Class 1 and Class 2 drone threats. It is available in two variants: a non-lethal version using a catch net to capture drones and a lethal version equipped with a fragmentation warhead. The missile is part of the modular Sky Sphere system, which integrates sensors and interceptors and can be customized with Diehl's technology or components from partner companies.
Diehl Defence is currently discussing customer-specific integration projects and expects the Sky Sphere system to be available on the market by 2026.
Besides Sky Sphere, Diehl Defence is showcasing ammunition products and protection systems, including the Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) "Ziesel." The company is demonstrating a logistic version of "Ziesel" at the "Enforce Tac Village" training ground, while a MedEvac version is displayed at the Meier Medizintechnik booth.
Diehl Defence, known for its ground-based air defense systems, guided missiles, and protection technologies, has expanded its presence at Enforce Tac in recent years.
