Daman Naval to Provide Combat Management System Colombia's PES Frigate

Saab has signed a contract with Damen Naval to supply the combat management system for the Colombian Navy's Plataforma Estratégica de Superficie (PES) program.

The order includes the 9LV Combat Management System and 9LV Fire Control System, along with the Ceros 200 radar, optronic fire control tracking director, EOS 500 electro-optical fire control director, Sea Giraffe 4A radars, and other Saab systems.

The PES frigate is based on Damen Naval’s SIGMA 10514 series. Damen Naval will provide design, engineering, technical support, and materials, enabling Colombia’s leading shipyard, COTECMAR, to construct the vessel locally.

This marks the first SIGMA frigate to feature Saab technology. Damen Naval designs modular, adaptable platforms to meet diverse operational needs.

The Colombian Navy is expected to receive the PES frigate in 2030.

The SIGMA 10514 is the most advanced in the series, with previous deliveries to Indonesia (two vessels) and Mexico (one vessel). Damen’s modular construction enabled local assembly in both countries.
