Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. and Elbit Systems Ltd. have been awarded a contract to supply Naval Decoy Control & Launching Systems (DCLS) for the new frigates of NATO European countries.
The four-year agreement covers five vessels and is part of a joint program integrating Elbit's DESEAVER MK-4 system with Rafael’s decoy countermeasures.
Rafael’s passive and active decoys, including BEAM TRAP, SMOKE TRAP, and WIZARD, are designed to neutralize threats such as advanced Anti-Ship Missile (ASM) seekers. The system has been upgraded with the addition of the C-GEM active decoy, developed for modern ASM threats.
Elbit’s DESEAVER MK-4 Countermeasure Dispensing System (CMDS) is a maritime electronic warfare solution designed to handle complex missile attacks. It integrates with ship combat systems and features stabilized, trainable launchers capable of deploying various decoys. The system enhances soft-kill anti-missile defense capabilities by countering multiple threats simultaneously.
The new solution will allow NATO frigates to transition from fixed Decoy Launching Systems to a stabilized and trainable system, improving survivability in modern naval combat.
