China has launched an online platform for Taiwanese residents to report "vile acts by those advocating 'Taiwan independence' in persecuting their compatriots."

According to Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the newly added reporting section on the official website, introduced on Wednesday, aims to hold key "Taiwan independence" separatists accountable.

At a press conference, Chen stated that the Democratic Progressive Party authorities have been fabricating various charges to suppress dissenting voices on the island, curbing freedom of speech. He added that they have been using threats, intimidation, and persecution against political opponents, as well as political parties, organizations, and individuals who support the peaceful development and integration of cross-Strait relations.

Chen further noted that certain "Taiwan independence" groups, separatist elements, officials, and online influencers have acted as enforcers and accomplices, abetting wrongdoing and facilitating aggression. He expressed grave concern over this and pledged severe punishment for those involved.

Chen called on victims of suppression and persecution, or anyone with relevant information, to report the details to a dedicated email address: [email protected]. He assured that all submissions would be properly handled, and verified cases would be disclosed at the appropriate time.

He emphasized that perpetrators will be held accountable in accordance with the law once sufficient evidence is gathered to confirm their offenses. Chen also assured that the information and legal rights of all whistleblowers will be strictly protected as required by law.
