Denmark has officially signed the Technical Arrangement to join the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, becoming the fifth nation to participate alongside Finland, Latvia, Sweden, and Germany.
Patria, the Finnish contractor leading the programme, welcomed Denmark’s decision. The CAVS programme focuses on developing the Patria 6x6 armoured vehicle, with over 850 orders and more than 200 delivered so far.
Patria is also expanding its Hämeenlinna production facility, investing €40 million to support the increased demand. The expansion, which includes a new production area and surface treatment facility, is expected to double vehicle production capacity by 2027.
Launched in 2019, the CAVS programme is supported by European Defence Industry Reinforcement through Joint Procurement (EDIRPA). The Patria 6x6 vehicle supports various missions, from transport to combat.
