A former Israeli intelligence collaborator has claimed that Israel relied on psychic powers and supernatural methods to conduct espionage against Iran during military operations in June.

According to renowned Israeli psychic Uri Geller, a secret team of military psychics was involved in Israel’s alleged attacks on Iranian nuclear sites and other targets during what the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) referred to as Operation Rising Lion. Geller made the claim in an interview with The Jerusalem Post, asserting that supernatural forces were used alongside traditional intelligence operations.

The claim comes in response to remarks by Abdollah Ganji, former editor of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)-linked newspaper Javan, who said Israel used “occult and supernatural forces” during its campaign. He referenced earlier claims about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu allegedly meeting with occult specialists.

Ganji’s comments align with previous statements by Iran’s Supreme Leader, who had accused Western and Israeli intelligence agencies of using “occult sciences and jinn entities” in warfare and espionage.

While Israel’s Mossad dismissed the claims on its Farsi-language X account, Geller defended them, saying: “The circumstances in Iran were so mysterious and bizarre that the Iranian government realized this cannot happen with mechanical means or cyberattacks. They came to the conclusion it was something supernatural – and they were basically right.”

Geller also referenced his own history working with Western intelligence services. In the 1970s, he was studied by scientists under what would later become the U.S. government's Stargate Project, which explored the military use of psychic abilities. The CIA had concluded that Geller demonstrated his claimed powers “in a convincing and unambiguous manner.”

Declassified NSA documents from 2011 mention unusual phenomena surrounding Geller’s experiments, including poltergeist-like effects, object disappearance, and talk of using such energy to dematerialize large targets.

Geller said this secret knowledge never disappeared, claiming there is still an underground network of military psychics operating in modern conflicts, including in Israel’s war efforts. He also mentioned artificial intelligence as playing a key role:

“AI helped us a lot,” he said, implying it was used to coordinate psychic efforts. “I think Israel was so advanced with AI decades ago, that this is why we're winning every war.”

Further backing Ganji’s claim, Iran International reported that sheets of paper with talismans and Jewish symbols were found on Tehran’s streets after the conflict, fueling speculation that spiritual tools were used during the attacks.

The Mossad mocked the idea in a social media post, saying, “Using drugs and talking to the jinn are not desirable traits for someone leading a country.” This was reposted by Israeli officials, adding a ghost emoji.

Geller, however, stood by his claims, saying Israel had a mix of skilled forces, spiritual intervention, and cutting-edge tech.
