Avio has signed new production orders worth approximately €60 million under its ongoing framework agreement with MBDA in France.

The main order, valued at around €50 million, covers the supply of solid rocket motors and related aerodynamic surfaces for the ASTER 30 air defense system. Avio also signed additional separate orders totaling around €10 million, all scheduled over an average five-year production period.

These orders are part of a broader collaboration with MBDA Group and mark continued demand for Avio’s propulsion technology within the European defense sector.

ASTER 30 is a long-range, vertically launched missile designed for air defense against aircraft, drones, and ballistic missiles. It features a two-stage propulsion system and can intercept targets at ranges up to 120 kilometers and altitudes up to 20 kilometers. The missile reaches speeds of Mach 4.5 and uses an active radar seeker for terminal guidance.
