Turkey's Havelsan to Help Egypt Produce VTOL Drones

Egypt and Turkey have signed an agreement to jointly produce the Torgha Vertical Takeoff and Landing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (VTOL-UAV).

The agreement, signed between Egypt’s Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) and Turkish defense technology firm HAVELSAN, will see the advanced UAVs manufactured locally at the Kader Advanced Industrial Factory in Cairo.

The Torgha project reflects our shared vision and the strength of our strategic dialogue, as we work together to build sustainable, indigenous defense capabilities,” said Turkish Ambassador to Egypt, Salih Mutlu Şen.

AOI Chairman, Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif, said “This partnership not only strengthens our armed forces but also opens up new export opportunities across Africa, the Middle East, and other regions.”

This agreement follows an earlier milestone in March 2024, when HAVELSAN and AOI launched a joint program to produce unmanned ground vehicles, also at the Kader factory.
